Vietjet is adding a new direct route between the Philippines and Vietnam, giving travellers in Central and Northern Luzon another option for a quick getaway to Ho Chi Minh City.
Starting 10 November 2026, the Vietnamese low-cost carrier will operate direct flights between Clark International Airport and Ho Chi Minh City three times a week. The route is scheduled to run every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, making it a convenient option for travellers planning short breaks or longer trips in Vietnam.
The new service also marks Vietjet’s debut at Clark International Airport. For travellers based outside Metro Manila, the route means they can head to Vietnam directly from Clark rather than travelling to Manila first.
Clark has been expanding its international network, with the airport recording 2.75 million passengers in 2025, a 14% increase from the previous year.
A New Way to Get to Ho Chi Minh City
Vietjet flight VJ1871 is scheduled to depart Clark at 5:05pm and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 6:35pm. The return service will leave Ho Chi Minh City at 12:30pm, arriving at Clark at 4:05pm.
For travellers, the new route could make Ho Chi Minh City easier to fit into a long weekend itinerary. The city is known for its lively food scene, cafés, markets and historic landmarks, making it a popular choice for travellers looking for a city break in Southeast Asia.
The route also offers more possibilities beyond Ho Chi Minh City. Passengers can use the Vietnamese city as a connecting point for Vietjet’s domestic network, with onward destinations including Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and Hue.
That means travellers could use the new Clark service as the starting point for a wider Vietnam trip, from a few days exploring Ho Chi Minh City to a longer itinerary combining several destinations.
Promotional Fares for Early Travellers
To mark the launch, Vietjet is offering promotional one-way economy fares starting at US$75, including taxes and fees. The promotional fares are available for travel until 31 March 2027, although blackout dates and other conditions apply.
For travellers considering a Vietnam holiday later this year or early next year, the new route adds another option to compare when planning flights.
The Clark–Ho Chi Minh City service also comes as Clark continues to develop its role as an alternative international gateway for passengers outside Metro Manila. The airport has been seeing growth in both domestic and international traffic, while airlines continue to add routes and capacity.
