Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced the cancellation and rescheduling of several domestic and international flights between November 14 and 18, 2026, ahead of the arrival of delegates for the 49th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Manila.
The airline issued the advisory on October 30, informing passengers that selected flights to and from Manila would be affected during the five-day period. The adjustments are being made in anticipation of increased airport activity and security arrangements as the Philippines prepares to host regional leaders and international delegations.
According to PAL, affected passengers will receive notifications through email and SMS. The airline has also advised travellers to check their flight status before heading to the airport, as the list of affected services may be subject to further updates.
Domestic and International Flights Affected
The flight adjustments cover several domestic destinations, including Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Iloilo, Zamboanga, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, General Santos, Legazpi, Dipolog, Dumaguete, Roxas and Laoag.
International services are also included in the advisory, with affected routes connecting Manila to Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, Xiamen, Jinjiang, Riyadh and Denpasar in Bali.
The adjustments will take place across different routes and dates. On November 14, affected international services include Manila–Melbourne and Manila–Hong Kong. On November 16, passengers travelling to Sydney, Xiamen and Hong Kong may also be affected.
Meanwhile, on November 17, the changes include flights connecting Manila with Singapore, Jinjiang and Hong Kong. Travellers flying between Manila and Bali should also take note of the November 18 adjustments, which include Philippine Airlines flights PR537 and PR538 between Manila and Denpasar.
PAL’s advisory lists the affected flight numbers but does not specify which individual services have been cancelled and which have been rescheduled. Passengers should therefore verify their specific bookings rather than assume that every flight on the list has been cancelled.
Free Rebooking and Refund Options for Affected Passengers
Passengers whose bookings are affected can choose from several options without additional charges. These include free rebooking, a full refund or converting their ticket value into a travel fund.
The options are available through the airline’s Manage Booking service on its official website. Passengers can also check the latest flight information through PAL’s Flight Status page.
The airline is coordinating with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), airport operators and other government agencies to minimise disruptions during the summit period.
Travellers using Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) between November 14 and 18 are also advised to allow extra time for their journeys. Possible road closures, heavier traffic and additional security screening may affect access to airport terminals.
PAL recommends checking in online before departure and monitoring flight updates through its official website and social media channels. Passengers with connecting itineraries through Manila should also check each flight separately to avoid unexpected disruptions.
The Philippine government has declared November 16–18 as special non-working days in Metro Manila in preparation for the ASEAN Summit, with the measure intended to help manage traffic and security arrangements during the event.
