Good news for travellers heading to the US! Philippine Airlines (PAL) is launching a new non-stop route between Manila-Chicago on 9 November 2026, making it easier to travel between the Philippines and the American Midwest without a connecting flight.
The new service will operate three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, using an Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Chicago will become PAL’s eighth destination in the United States and its territories, joining cities and destinations including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Honolulu, Guam and Saipan.
For Filipino travellers visiting family, holidaymakers planning a US trip and business travellers heading to the Midwest, the new route offers another direct connection between the two countries.
What to Know About PAL’s Manila–Chicago Flights
The new route will connect Manila with Chicago O’Hare International Airport, one of the major aviation hubs in the United States.
Flights from Manila are scheduled to depart in the afternoon and arrive in Chicago later that afternoon, local time. The return service will leave Chicago in the evening and arrive in Manila early the following morning. Flights will operate on the same three days each week.
PAL will use its Airbus A350-900 for the route. Passengers can expect the airline’s full-service offering, including onboard dining and baggage allowance across its cabin classes.
The service is also expected to support cargo transport between the US Midwest and the Philippines, with shipments able to connect through PAL’s wider network in Manila.
More Convenient Connections for US-Bound Travellers
Chicago is a major gateway to the American Midwest, making the new route useful for travellers visiting the city as well as those travelling for work, family visits or onward connections.
The service will also give passengers from the US access to destinations across the Philippines through Manila, including popular domestic holiday spots. Travellers connecting through the Philippine capital can explore options for continuing their journey to other cities and islands, subject to flight schedules and availability.
The route also strengthens PAL’s trans-Pacific network as the airline expands its services to North America. With Chicago added to its destinations, passengers will have another non-stop option when planning trips between the Philippines and the United States.
If Chicago is on your travel wish list, it may be worth checking PAL’s official website for flight schedules, fares and booking details before planning your trip.
