Two restaurants from the Philippines have secured places on the extended Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 ranking, highlighting the continued recognition of Filipino cuisine on the regional dining stage.
Makati-based Toyo Eatery ranked No. 71, while Restaurant Celera entered the list at No. 100. Both establishments were among the restaurants included in the annual 51–100 ranking released ahead of the announcement of the main Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, which is scheduled to be revealed during an awards ceremony in Hong Kong on 25 March.
The two restaurants are among the Philippine establishments recognised by the Michelin Guide Philippines following its debut last year. Toyo Eatery and Celera each hold one Michelin star.
Other restaurants awarded one Michelin star include Asador Alfonso, Gallery by Chele, Hapag, Inato, Kasa Palma and Linamnam. Chef Josh Boutwood’s Helm remains the only Philippine restaurant to have received two Michelin stars.
Toyo Eatery Continues Regional Recognition
Toyo Eatery, led by chef Jordy Navarra and co-founder May Navarra, has become one of the country’s most recognised dining destinations. The restaurant is known for highlighting Filipino ingredients while working closely with farmers, fishers and artisans across the country.
Its menu incorporates fermentation and preservation techniques to reinterpret traditional Filipino flavours. Among its signature dining experiences is the kamayan menu, where food is served on banana leaves and diners eat with their hands, reflecting a long-standing Filipino communal dining tradition.
The restaurant has maintained a strong presence in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants rankings over recent years. After receiving the Miele One To Watch Award in 2018, Toyo Eatery entered the main list in 2019 at No. 43. It later climbed to No. 24 in 2024 before ranking No. 42 in 2025.
Last year, the restaurant received the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award and was named Best Restaurant in the Philippines for the sixth consecutive year. It had previously won the Sustainable Restaurant Award in 2023.
Meanwhile, Gallery by Chele, which appeared on last year’s extended ranking, was listed at No. 72 in the 2026 edition.
Celera Makes Debut on the Ranking
Restaurant Celera is one of 12 new entries on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 extended list. The Makati restaurant, operated by chef-owners Nicco Santos and Quenee Vilar, opened in 2025 and has entered the ranking at No. 100.
The restaurant focuses on contemporary Asian cuisine, combining influences from different culinary traditions across the region. One of its notable dishes features Peking duck and chicken meatballs paired with kiniing, the cured and smoked pork of the Cordillera region, alongside Baguio strawberries, lime and shiso.
Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants said the restaurant’s intimate dining room and attentive service have contributed to its growing reputation among diners and industry voters.
